My ID check experience

I booked my ID check at the London office. The GMC building was a 5 minutes walk from my hotel and I reached at 9AM for a 9.45AM appointment.

The receptionist verified my ID and gave me an ID card. I was asked to wait till someone calls for me. There is a coffee machine and a water purifier at the office. I sat there sipping my hot chocolate and reading the Good Clinical Governance booklet provided by GMC.

After 10 minutes, I heard a female call my name. She escorted me into a small room where I was asked to show my original documents. She told me that she will have the documents verified and  will come back soon. I was left in the room alone with nothing to do. I took my phone about and started browsing.

Ten minutes later, she was back in the cubicle with my documents and I was informed that the documents have been successfully verified. She then went on to do some 'admin work' on her computer for 5 minutes, post which she congratulated me saying that my name has now been included in GMCs online register for doctors.

I was asked to confirm my address. My GMC registration certificate would be sent to this address. I provided my Indian home address.( I received my certificate after 4 weeks)

That's it. My name was now visible in their online register.
